The Start
Bodholtgård began as a small family farm in the heart of Midtjylland. We inherited the land and a deep respect for nature and animals. Our journey started with a simple desire to provide our family with wholesome, ethically raised meat. Over time, this desire evolved into a commitment to share our produce with the community, fostering a connection between consumers and the source of their food.

Initially, we focused on a small herd of cattle and a few pigs, all raised on pasture. We quickly realized the importance of traditional farming methods and the positive impact they have on both animal welfare and the quality of the meat. We embraced these methods, ensuring our animals had ample space to roam, access to fresh grass, and the freedom to express their natural behaviours. This commitment to ethical farming practices remains the cornerstone of Bodholtgård.
Our Why
At Bodholtgård, our ideology is rooted in a deep respect for nature and a commitment to animal welfare. We believe that animals deserve to live a life as close to their natural state as possible. This means providing them with ample space, fresh air, and access to pasture whenever possible. We avoid the use of unnecessary antibiotics and hormones, focusing instead on preventative care and creating a healthy environment for our animals to thrive. Our focus extends beyond animal welfare to encompass environmental sustainability.

We are committed to minimising our impact on the land through responsible farming practices. This includes rotating our pastures to prevent overgrazing, using natural fertilizers, and reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. We also believe in transparency and open communication with our customers. We want you to know where your food comes from and how it was raised. This is why we welcome visitors to our farm and encourage you to ask questions about our practices. We hope that by sharing our story, we can inspire others to support ethical and sustainable agriculture.
